Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust will continue to outsource its neurophysiology tests having exercised its option to extend the contract with Bespoke Healthcare.

The company, which originally won a five-way pitch back in 2008, deals with over 800 patients per year with out-patient services delivered at Wrightington Hospital and Leigh Infirmary and in-patient services undertaken at Wrightington Hospital and the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

A recent survey found the service was highly rated by patients with 95 percent classing their experience and waiting time as excellent or very good.  Bespoke Healthcare carried out the research as part of its quality assurance programme.

Professor Raj Murali, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Hand and Wrist Specialist at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, said: “When we decided to outsource our neurophysiology services it was imperative to secure a premium quality service for our patients and a cost-effective service for us, and these aims have been achieved.”
