Having clearing a backlog of 500 tests in six months, Bespoke Healthcare has been contracted to undertake all nerve conduction study tests for Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Foundation Trust.

The Preston-based company will deal with over 800 patients per year on our behalf of the Trust, with out-patient services delivered at Wrightington Hospital and Leigh Infirmary and in-patient services undertaken at Wrightington Hospital and Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

The contract was won following a five way pitch and will run for three years.

Debbie Tokariuk, associate general manager at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Foundation Trust, said: “It is important that the NHS secures contracts that are cost-effective and of premium quality for our clinicians and patients.

“Bespoke Healthcare has consistently delivered an efficient flexible service and they have the confidence of my clinicians.  They are also competitive in financial terms, and this has been confirmed through a tendering process.”

The company is expecting to announce several further agreements over the coming year.

“There has been a definite swing to private companies in the neurophysiology sector to bring waiting times, patient service and overall pricing inside the parameters set by the Department of Health.”
